Netflix and Knit

Perhaps it's the current mood of the country right now, but I've found myself just wanting to watch Netflix while knitting something during the evenings.  It's the best way I know of relieving stress and I've needed a lot of that lately.

First up, Watermelon Socks!

Watermelon Socks

These are knit with Gecko Yarns Gradient Socks, which I purchased at Vogue Knitting Live in Pasadena.  They sold me on the way they split up the skein into two 50g cakes.  Easy to make matching colored socks.  I used a pattern called Basic Ribbed Socks.

Next up is a Starshower Cowl.

Starshower Cowl

This was a surprisingly fast knit.  I used almost exactly one skein of Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles.  This is the Fly colorway.  I tried to take a close-up of the lace.

Then I took a photo of myself wearing it right after I got home from work, but before taking a shower.  An exhausted chemist.

I'm in the process of knitting a Starry Night Beanie with various colors of KnitWit Gobstopper Minis.  I tried to match the colors from the original pattern as closely as I could because I think they look very much like a starry night.  I need to get another mini skein though - I knit tight and used larger needles than the pattern calls for.  Oops.

Slightly Starry Night fact right after I'm done writing this post, I'm going to cast on for the Through the Loops Mystery Sock 2017.  I have no idea what it looks like and I suppose I won't post any photos until the end of the month.  I'm going to work with these colors together.  So...think strawberries or flowers.

My birthday is this Monday, so I think I'll spend the weekend visiting the Yarnover Truck and going to the Griffith Observatory and look at the stars.
