Remember that Starting Point mystery knitalong that started last May? I finally finished it.
I was only able to stay caught up for the first clue. Once I realized there was no way I could stay caught up, I was satisfied working on it at my own pace.
The pattern stressed that the wrap would be large. I didn't imagine it would turn out as large as it did. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's twice as tall as I am.
To be honest, I felt lukewarm about the wrap until I finished it and put it away for a few days. Once I showed it off a bit at the knit shop and took these photos did I start to really like the finished piece. I'm still trying to figure out how to wear it.
Here at the details!
The wrap was made with a Miss Babs kit I purchased at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. The kit is titled 'My Treasure' and contains the following colors -- Sea Life, Rainforest, Lost Treasure, Franklin, and Old Gold. I used size 7 needles, but ran out of Franklin and Lost Treasure. I bought another skein of Franklin, but I replaced Lost Treasure with Old Gold for the very last bit of knitting. I didn't feel it was worth buying another skein for such a small piece of the wrap. I did not include any lace in this wrap - I followed the alternate row instructions instead of knitting lace.
I doubt I will want to knit anything this big again, but it was quite the experience and the yarn was really nice to work with.
How would you wear something this large?
